Raising Money for the Local Children’s Hospital
Over the past seven years, Steve Roberts, one of our sales representatives from Marianna, Arkansas, singlehandedly raised over $600,000 for the Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. The folks at the hospital refer to him as the “Forrest City Angel” for his willingness to help the hospital anyway he can. Roberts stated that his main motivation for raising money and volunteering year-round is to, “help save the babies.” The money he raises goes to the Go Jim Go! race. During the race, Memphis-based meteorologist Jim Jaggers rides his bike through Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee to fundraise for the hospital.
Roberts plans to continue to be a champion for Le Bonheur from golf tournaments to watermelon parties, he’s committed to do everything he can “to turn a dollar for Le Bonheur.” Elizabeth Salton, Donor Relations Coordinator at the children’s hospital said, “This man has the biggest heart out of anyone I’ve ever met.” The work Steve Roberts has done and the kind words about him speak volumes to his generosity and spirit of giving.
